Tender Growth: Yin Yoga Miniseries
Tender Growth: Yin Yoga Miniseries
A mindful approach to the season of expansion
“You are here to enable the divine purpose of the universe to unfold.
That is how important you are!”
~ Eckhart Tolle
Join Alex Argo for a May miniseries. In this three-session series Alex will guide students through a mindful exploration of the process of expansion, expression and creativity. Intended as a support for the busy energy of the growing season ahead, this series will look to the wisdom of nature and explore its seasonal energy through the lens of Yin Yoga and Traditional Eastern philosophies. This practice will encourage students to contemplate their individual expression as a birthright and not as a means of productivity or personal gain. Classes will help students contemplate how they can stay rooted in their authenticity, plant meaningful seeds of intentions and apply balanced use of energy towards their endeavors. This series will rely on breath awareness and postures held in mindful stillness, as a foundation for exploration and manifestation of personal expression.
Each session will have continuity on the theme; however, classes can be taken individually.
Alex is offering this class both in person and through Zoom.

Week 1: Soil
“To forget how to dig in the earth and tend the soil, is to forget ourselves.”
~ Mahatma Gandhi
This week’s class will encourage students to contemplate their “soil” as a metaphor for authentic Self and personal truth. This practice will focus on grounding postures, targeting the legs and low back, encouraging a clearing away of what no longer serves us and cultivation of a stable base for meaningful growth. Through grounding postures and meditative stillness, students will be guided to trust and honor what holds and sustains them, and let go of what they no longer need.
Week 2: Seed
“What shape waits in the seed of you to grow and spread its branches against a future sky?”
~David Whyte
Intention is a spark of lifeforce energy that propels us from one form into another. The growing season is buzzing with this transformational energy. We can see, smell and feel it all around us. All of this life, born from many tiny seeds.
Every action begins with intention. When your intention is rooted in the fertile soil of your authentic Self, your actions will be meaningful and fruitful. In this week’s class Alex will guide students in sowing seeds of intention. Through postures targeting the hips and spine, as well as breathwork intended to stoke the transformative internal fires, this class will encourage students to solidify their personal truth into focused direction.
Week 3: Sprout
“What is planted in each person’s soul will sprout”
~ Rumi
A seed expresses its creative lifeforce by cracking open, establishing roots and sprouting upwards. In the final class of the series, we honor and embody the energy of creative expression. Postures and breath awareness will foster opening through the chest, arms and neck. The practice will encourage the creative energy to rise and stimulate personal expansion, sprung from authentic intention and rooted in a genuine foundation of Self.
