Slow Flow Donation Class for Wabanaki Public Health
The day after Thanksgiving is Native American Heritage Day. Native American Heritage Day honors the cultural heritage, traditions, and tribal sovereignty of Native Americans, Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians. In honor of Native American Heritage Day, Alex Argo and RWC will be donating all proceeds from Alex’s Slow Flow class to the Wabanaki Public Health’s KTANAQSON Food Sovereignty Program.
This program focuses on restoring traditional Wabanaki food systems that support health, wellness, culture, values, communities, and families by rebuilding relationships with the land, water, plants, and animals that have sustained us since time immemorial. By focusing on the development and strengthening efforts to build traditional food systems we are also empowering tribal households and communities to address issues of hunger and health by cultivating their own healthy, fresh foods.
More about Alex’s class:
In this slow intentional Vinyasa practice, students will move mindfully through a gentle sequence intended to lightly warm the body and focus the mind. The class ends with a series of postures held in attentive stillness. All levels and bodies welcome and affirmed!
This mindful class allows space for you to relieve tension, reconnect with your mind & body, and give gratitude to the Native American people and their land.
Please join us on Friday, November 29th from 9-10 AM. Registration is required.
